Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and highly dependable Licensed Title Officer to join our title and escrow team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of hands-on title experience and possess strong knowledge of title examination, title insurance requirements, real estate transactions, and the closing process.
The Title Officer will be responsible for examining real estate records, identifying and resolving title issues, preparing title commitments and policies, and working closely with lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, buyers, sellers, and escrow personnel to ensure transactions close accurately and efficiently.
This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities

· Examine and analyze public records, deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, restrictions, probate records, and other documents affecting real estate title.
· Prepare and review title commitments, preliminary reports, and title insurance policies.
· Identify title defects, exceptions, liens, ownership issues, and other potential problems affecting a transaction.
· Determine appropriate requirements and curative actions necessary to clear title.
· Work with attorneys, lenders, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and other professionals to resolve title issues.
· Review legal descriptions, surveys, plats, easements, and other property-related documents.
· Handle complex title transactions, including refinances, purchases, estates, trusts, divorces, foreclosures, probate matters, including residential and commercial real estate.
· Review documents for accuracy and compliance with company and underwriting requirements.
· Communicate title requirements and potential issues clearly and professionally.
· Assist escrow and closing personnel with questions regarding title requirements and exceptions.
· Stay current with changes in title insurance practices, state laws, regulations, and underwriting requirements.
· Provide exceptional customer service to clients and real estate professionals.
Required Qualifications

· Licensed by the Department of Insurance for Title Insurance.
· Extensive experience as a Title Examiner, Title Officer, or similar position.
· Strong knowledge of real estate title examination and title insurance.
· Thorough understanding of deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, probate, estates, trusts, divorce proceedings, and other matters affecting title.
· Ability to independently identify and resolve complex title issues.
· Strong knowledge of real estate closing procedures.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Ability to work effectively with lenders, attorneys, real estate agents, customers, and internal staff.
· Professional demeanor and commitment to outstanding customer service.
· Proficiency with title production and office software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
· Ohio title insurance experience.
· Experience handling complex residential and commercial transactions.
· Familiarity with ALTA title insurance forms and endorsements.
· Strong understanding of underwriting requirements.
· Experience working with escrow and closing departments.
· Notary Public.
